Staff changes

The PSUP team is undergoing some changes. François Poulet and Hervé Ballans from IAS have decided to step back to focus more effectively on their other projects.

WFS service for NOMAD nadir footprints

As part of its data distribution mission, PSUP now offers to host data services based on the WFS published by the Open Geospatial Consortium.

MarsSI at EPSC 2024

PSUP was once again present at EuroPlanet Science Congress 2024, which took place in Berlin from September 8th to 13th 2024.

MarsSI at the Conference on Mars 2024

MarsSI was present in the poster session of the Tenth International Conference on Mars which took place in Passadena (California, USA) between the 22 and 25 of july, 2024.

PSUP qualification renewed

We are delighted to share that CNRS-INSU committees responsible for ANO5 evaluations transmitted us their conclusions about the 2019-2023 period, and that they are very positive. The service is renewed and its value is highlighted by the extension recommandations that were suggested. These will feed the discussions for future orientations of the tools.

MarsSI at JCAD 2023

PSUP was present at Journées CAlcul et Données 2023 at Maison des SHS of Université de Reims, campus de la Croix Rouge (France). JCAD are dedicated to both users and technical experts from infrastructures and services they relate to. The objectives of these meetings are to present scientific results in all disciplines, done thanks to the support of HPC infrastuctures, mesocenters or clouds, works in associated computer sciences and technical evolutions and works of these infrastructures administrators.

MarsSI à l'EPSC 2022

The EuroPlanet Science Congress 2022 was held from 18th to 23th of september 2022 in Grenada, Spain. MarsSI was the subject of a poster and a splinter meeting to present and discuss the tool.

EPSC 2022 splinter workshop on Martian Orbital data combination

The Planetary Surface Portal (PSUP) is organizing a splinter workshop during EPSC 2022 dedicated to the combination of Martian Orbital Data. A demo of the tools offered by PSUP tool named MarsSI (marssi.univ-lyon1.fr) will be offered. MarsSI provides both a way to explore and use data from space agencies archives, such as the Planetary Data System (PDS), but also run data processing pipelines to produce corrected and map-projected data set, ready to be used in Geographic Information System for analyzes. Optical images (eg : HiRISE or CTX), hyperspectral data cubes (OMEGA and CRISM) are available. MarsSI allows also the processing of both CTX and HiRISE Digital Elevation Models on demand. A demo of QGIS by managing MarsSI output products will also be proposed.

The Programme National de Planétologie (PNP) organized in Lyon its outcomes and perspectives workshop from the june 29th to the july 1s, 2022.

MarsSI at PSIDA 2022

PSUP was present at the Planetary Science Informatics and Data Analytic conference organized by ESA at European Space Astronomy Centre (ESAC) in Villanueva de Cañada, Madrid, Spain, from the 21 to 23 june 2022. This conference is a venue to discuss informatics and data analysis for planetary sciences.

MarsSI at Workshop Mars V

PSUP was present to Workshop Mars V at “Ecole de Physique des Houches” (France) from 24 to 29 april 2022, which goal is to to bring together senior scientists, young scientists, postdocs and students in order to optimize the analysis and interpretation of space data, and to prepare the community for the best exploitation of forthcoming missions.

A new website for PSUP

PSUP evolves and presents its new project page.

As you can see, we moved away from a webapp site towards a more informational website that will display the tools available in the PSUP infrastructure, as well as news about the project or theme-related informations.
